Deep Tissue

A Deep Tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscles and fascia in the body. Deep Tissue strokes are slow and specific, and often use little oil/lotion. The therapist uses hard surfaces such as thumbs, fingertips, knuckles, and elbows. Pressure for this modality ranges from light to heavy, sometimes reaching “hurt-so-good”.

Recommended time frame: 60 or 90 minutes

Relaxation

A Relaxation massage incorporates Swedish techniques such as gliding, kneading, friction, percussion, vibration, and joint movements. This massage style focuses more on superficial muscles with smooth, broad strokes. Pressure for Relaxation massages ranges from light to heavy.

Recommended time frame: 60 minutes

Pain Therapy

A Pain Therapy massage targets a specific issue (for example, low back pain), and devotes the whole session to working that area as well as the areas that may be contributing to the problem. Deep Tissue and Neuromuscular Therapy (Trigger Point Therapy) techniques are used, as well as open communication. Due to the extra focus on these specific areas, 60 minutes is usually NOT enough time to make this a full body massage.

Combo: Relaxation & Deep Tissue

This is our most popular massage style: A full body massage with a goal of relaxing, but with the intention to work on some minor issues, too.
